Please note that due to the schedule of the photographer, we are not able to reschedule this photo session or provide a make-up day. If you would like to be in the Dance Ensemble photos, you must attend on Friday, Nov. 5. We hope you will all be there!

Please wear blacks. They do not have to be a leotard and leggings, but please no bare midriffs. Hair may be styled however you choose. Please remove all jewelry and nail polish before arriving.

SHAPE Choreographic Festival

Tanner Dance and SALT Contemporary Dance Company are hosting the SHAPE Choreographic Festival on Saturday, Dec. 11. The festival is a day-long event that includes workshop classes taught by SALT dancers and guest artists, the opportunity for dancers to present their own choreography for adjudication*, and an evening Gala performance. The festival will take place at Tanner Dance and is open to dancers in junior high through high school, as well as dancers in university or pre-professional programs.

Tanner Dance students 7th-12th grade may participate in the festival at no cost. If you are interested in submitting a solo or group piece you have choreographed, or if you just want to take classes, please email Diana Timothy at diana.timothy@utah.edu by Thursday, Nov. 11. Please DO NOT sign up through the SALT website or you will be charged for your submission.

*Adjudication is not a competition. It is an opportunity for dancers to receive feedback about their work from professional artists. The adjudicators select their favorite pieces from the day to perform in the evening gala, but no score or ranking is given; the gala is just meant to highlight exceptional work.

We are working on getting our new registration system up and running. Your accounts are not yet accessible, but our office staff will be contacting you in the next couple of weeks by phone or email to gather information to complete the process. Thank you for your patience as we make this transition.
