Throughout the year the various classes and programs have performances to showcase their hard work. We invite you to attend and show your support. Below is a list of upcoming Tanner Dance events.

Tanner Dance Winter Gala

Join us for our Winter Gala concert and fundraiser February 26 and 27, 2021! This event features two live-streamed performances by the Children’s Dance Theatre and the Contemporary Companies, along with a virtual auction in support of our Tanner Dance Scholarship Fund. Celebrate a new year with us with a weekend of dance and community giving!

Hope – Friday, February 26 at 5:00 PM

The Tanner Dance Children’s Dance Theatre will perform Hope, a celebration of our connections, creativity, and resiliency during this past year. Each CDT class will share original choreography and a vision of hope for the future.

Polymath – Saturday, February 27 at 5:00 PM

Presented by the Tanner Dance Contemporary Companies, Polymath is an eclectic collection of new student choreography. Enjoy the polarity of artistic expression as these dancers share their unique perspectives.

Tickets are $10 each and includes links for both performances. Once you purchase your ticket you will be emailed a link and password to watch the shows live on February 26 and 27.

Artists and arts organizations are struggling during this time of COVID. Your ticket purchase is a valuable contribution to the Tanner Dance program. Your support will help us continue to create worthwhile human beings, one dancer at a time. Thank you!

Performance links will be sent by email 3 days prior to the event (February 23) and again on the day of the event at 1:00 PM (February 26).

The auction will be available online throughout the week so that you can bid on items and support our dancers from the safety of your home.

More information about how to register for the auction will be available soon.

Children's Dance Theatre Spring Concert

SPRING 2021 - exact dates TBA

The University of Utah Children's Dance Theatre presents: INVENTION

If you could travel to any moment in history, where would you go?

A young inventor named Emma has created the world's only fully functional time-travel wristwatch. She seizes the opportunity to visit the workshops and labs of her childhood heroes: Leonardo da Vinci, Marie Curie, Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell... But time travel can be dangerous. Despite her care to avoid disturbing the past, Emma soon discovers that dozens of inventions are somehow disappearing from history. Now it's up to her to find out where the past went wrong.

Come join the Children's Dance Theatre at the Janet Quinney Lawson Capitol Theatre for a lighthearted celebration of the spirit of ingenuity, brought to the stage through inventive dance, costumes and music.
