Home In Accord Music Ensemble

Calling all High School Musicians! Join our unique performing ensemble this Fall Semester. Starting August 20th, this class for high school-aged musicians will meet once a week on Tuesdays 4:30-6:00 throughout the semester, and will perform live as accompaniment for the In Accord dance show in January. Students will have the opportunity to learn music in a variety of genres beyond just classical and jazz, and will get to vote on at least one song of their choosing to play as a group. In addition to learning repertoire, students will learn compositional techniques, and will help compose a piece for the show.

Besides being a great performance opportunity, this class will also give students a chance to refine their skills as composers, arrangers, and orchestrators, deepen their knowledge of music theory, and practice working creatively with their peers.

Audition information

Auditions will be held Tuesday, August 13th starting at noon.

All instruments are welcome to audition (acoustic and electric)

Audition is free, however the class will have a $150 tuition fee. At the audition be prepared to:

- Perform a piece of your choosing, anywhere between 1-2 minutes long.

- Perform a musical excerpt emailed to you one week before the audition.

Placement will be announced on August 14th.
