Tanner Dance Contemporary Auditions 2020-2021

In Motion, MOmentum + Tipping Point Dance Companies

We will be holding virtual auditions for the Contemporary Companies this year. If you are interested in auditioning for In Motion (7th-8th grade) or Momentum and Tipping Point (9th-12th grade), please click on the button below for detailed information about the dance companies and the audition process.
You must register in order to receive the link for the audition. Dancers may submit their audition anytime between now and Friday, May 15.

IN MOTION DANCE COMPANY – Junior High Level

In Motion Dance Company is a performing group for dancers entering 7th and 8th grade. The focus of this company is to provide dancers with strong and versatile technique, in depth creative processing skills, and more opportunities on stage. The company focuses on modern and ballet technique, as well as improvisation and composition. Classes are taught by Tanner Dance faculty and a variety of guest artists. Participation is by audition only. Auditions are held annually in May.

MOMENTUM DANCE COMPANY – Intermediate Level

Momentum Dance Company is for dancers entering 9th-12th grade. The focus is on building technical strength in contemporary dance forms: correct alignment, agility, flexibility, balance and clarity of movement qualities. Dancers in Momentum will expand their choreographic skills and develop stage presence through multiple performing opportunities. Classes are taught by Tanner Dance faculty and professional guest artists. Participation is by audition only. Auditions are held annually in May.

TIPPING POINT DANCE COMPANY – Advanced Level

Tipping Point Dance Company is for advanced high school dancers interested in additional technical training, creative expansion and performing experiences. Company members are exposed to multiple dance genres and a variety of guest artists: professional dancers, choreographers and university professors. Tipping Point performs several times throughout the year, culminating in a showcase featuring the dancers’ own choreography. In addition, Tipping Point dancers expand their knowledge of movement through advocacy opportunities, developing community arts projects, and experiencing emerging trends in contemporary dance. Participation is by audition only. Auditions are held annually in May. Dancers must be committed to a rigorous level of classes, rehearsals and performances.
