Summer 2026 Registration Opens February 9, 2026

Age groups refer to the grade the dancer will be entering in Fall 2025

(For example, if your child is currently in 2nd grade, they will register for camps for 3rd graders.)

Camp Refund Policies

      • Contact the office within 10 business days of purchasing a camp to receive a full refund. After that time, a 20% cancellation fee will apply.
      • No refunds are given with less than 10 business days' notice prior to camp.
      • No refunds are given for missed days of camp.
      • Tanner Dance reserves the right to cancel any camp due to low enrollment. Camps cancelled by Tanner Dance will be fully refunded.

 

ATTENTION CDT DANCERS!

The camps listed here are not part of your CDT summer commitment. You are welcome and encouraged, however, to register and pay for any additional camps in addition to your required camp.  CDT camps are on specific dates (please refer to CDT eNews emails for more information). Those needing to substitute a camp need to contact the office directly at 801-581-7374.

If you have already set up your account for your staff discount, please log onto your account before registering for a camp.  If you have not yet set up your account for the University of Utah staff discount, please contact the office to set that up before registering for camp.  You will need a valid UNID ready when you call.

 


 

Types of camps here at Tanner Dance

Arts for the Young
These are weekly held camps for children Pre-K to 4th Grade. Each camp is themed after a different book or fairytale and incorporates visual art, dance, and music throughout the week. Camps held: Week 1 | Week 3 | Week 4 | Week 5 | Week 6 | Week 7 | Week 9
French Immersion Camp
Come join us for a week of creativity in French! There will be songs to sing, games to play, stories to hear, music, physical exercise and lots of art! All activities will be conducted in French. Camps held: Week 1 | Week 9 | Week 10
Dance Intensives
These camps are designed to strengthen and maintain your technical ability. For dancers looking to refine their skills, we offer a dynamic curriculum taught by experienced instructors and guest artists. Camps held: Studio Ensemble - Week 3 | Ballet - Week 7 | Modern - Week 7
Adaptive Needs Dance
For children and adults with disabilities who wish to experience the joy of moving and self-expression.  These camps are age and ability appropriate for the whole body and the exploration of shape, space, rhythm, and movement. Camp held week 6

Arts for the Young - “Wherever We Go”

This week’s camp is based on the book Wherever We Go by Pat Zietlow. We will be exploring all the places we can go, from the mountain tops to the oceans and everywhere in between.

French Summer Fun Camp

French Immersion Camps are for ages 4-9 years old at the beginning camp date and is for children who currently attend French Dual Immersion, French PreK/K, or children who are French speaking.

Come join us for a week of creativity en français! There will be songs to sing, games to play, stories to hear, music, physical exercise and lots of art.  All activities will be conducted in French.

Arts for the Young - “Fairy Tales”

This week’s camp is based on the fairytale Hansel and Gretel. We will explore a candyland forest and the adventure of friendship.

Dance Intensives - Studio Ensemble Dance Camp

Dancers currently enrolled in our Tanner Studio Ensemble classes, join us for an exhilarating week of dance at our Summer Dance Intensive! This week is designed specifically for our Studio Ensemble dancers looking to refine their skills and explore new styles, these camps offer a dynamic curriculum taught by experienced instructors and guest artists.

Arts for the Young - “A House for Hermit Crab”

This week's camp is based on the book A House for Hermit Crab by Eric Carle. We will go down into the ocean to discover what we can find to decorate the crab's new home.

Arts for the Young - “Who’s Habitat Is This?”

This week’s camp is based on the book Who’s Habitat Is This? By Luciel Piketty. From the swamp, desert, and rainforest, we will explore the magical places where creatures live in our world.

Arts for the Young - “FLASHLIGHT” (4 Day)

This week’s camp is based on the book Flashlight by Lizi Boyd, we will explore light, shadow, magnifiers, and different perspectives. No class will be held Friday, July 3rd.

Arts for the Young – “Out of the Box”

This week’s Out of the Box camp is designed to ignite our imaginations. We will explore what can be created with a cardboard box.

An adventure awaits when a child discovers an umbrella in an old shop. Based on the book The Umbrella by Beth Ferry and Tom Linchtenfeld, dancers will find the magic in every rainy step.

An Adventure awaits as we explore Umbrella by Elena Arevalo Melville. What would you ask a magic umbrella?

Dance Intensives - Ballet Intensives Camps

Come join the corps! This ballet camp is designed to strengthen and maintain your technical ability. Classes will include barre, pointe, center exercises, turns, leaps and repertoire.

Dance Intensives - Modern Intensives Camps

This camp will specifically focus on developing your technical ability as well as offering you some exposure to modern dance repertoire.  Come be challenged to gain some new skills and strengthen your dance ability.

Arts for the Young - “The Last Zookeeper”

Aaron Becker’s book The Last Zookeeper will help us explore a world where humans have vanished and Earth is flooded. A construction robot named NOA becomes the caretaker of a forgotten zoo. The story explores themes of compassion, care for animals, and resilience.
