Summer 2025 Registration Opens February 4, 2025

Age groups refer to the grade the dancer will be entering in Fall 2025

(For example, if your child is currently in 2nd grade, they will register for camps for 3rd graders.)

Camp Refund Policies

      • Contact the office within 10 business days of purchasing a camp to receive a full refund. After that time, a 20% cancellation fee will apply.
      • No refunds are given with less than 10 business days' notice prior to camp.
      • No refunds are given for missed days of camp.
      • Tanner Dance reserves the right to cancel any camp due to low enrollment. Camps cancelled by Tanner Dance will be fully refunded.

 

ATTENTION CDT DANCERS!

The camps listed here are not part of your CDT summer commitment. You are welcome and encouraged, however, to register and pay for any additional camps in addition to your required camp.  CDT camps are on specific dates (please refer to CDT eNews emails for more information). Those needing to substitute a camp need to contact the office directly at 801-581-7374.

If you have already set up your account for your staff discount, please log onto your account before registering for a camp.  If you have not yet set up your account for the University of Utah staff discount, please contact the office to set that up before registering for camp.  You will need a valid UNID ready when you call.

 


 

Types of camps here at Tanner Dance

Arts for the Young
These are weekly held camps for children 3 1/2 to kindergarten. Each camp is themed after a different book or fairytale and incorporates visual art, dance, and music throughout the week.
Weekly Summer Camp
These summer camps are for children from 1st grade to 4th grade. Campers explore science and nature through dance, art, drama, and music.
French Immersion Camp
Come join us for a week of creativity in French! There will be songs to sing, games to play, stories to hear, music, physical exercise and lots of art! All activities will be conducted in French. Please bring your own lunch and snack.
Dance Intensives - Studio
This week is designed specifically for our Studio Ensemble dancers looking to refine their skills and explore new styles, these camps offer a dynamic curriculum taught by experienced instructors and guest artists.
Dance Intensives - Ballet
Come join the corps! This ballet camp is designed to strengthen and maintain your technical ability. Classes will include barre, pointe, center exercises, turns, leaps and repertoire.
Dance Intensives - Modern Dance
This camp will specifically focus on developing your technical ability as well as offering you some exposure to modern dance repertoire.  Come be challenged to gain some new skills and strengthen your dance ability.
Adaptive Needs Dance
Our unique fine arts half-day camps will include dance, music, theatre, visual arts, and film. With our positive approach and engaging philosophy, this experience will be different from any other.
Adults with Disabilities
This camp is adults with disabilities who wish to experience the joy of moving and self-expression. Lessons are age and ability appropriate for the whole body and the exploration of shape, space, rhythm, and movement.

 

Offsite camps partnering with Tanner Dance

Tracy Aviary Partnership Camp - July 8-11 (no camp July 12th)
Campers will spend the morning at the Aviary and explore the arts in the afternoon at the Chase Mill. Drop-off and pick-up will be at the Tracy Aviary.

Spy Hop! Partnership Camp - (July 14th-18th)
Campers will spend the morning at Spy Hop and the afternoon exploring dance and music at Tanner Dance. Drop-off at Spy Hop and pick-up at Tanner Dance. Registration through Spy Hop, opens in March.

Arts for the Young - “Jack and the Beanstalk”

This week's camp we will explore the beloved fairy tale Jack and the Beanstalk. Each day we will explore the characters and adventures Jack has with his family, the giant, a magic fairy, a magic hen and a magic harp.

Dance Intensives - Studio Intensive Camp

Dancers currently enrolled in our Tanner Studio Ensemble classes, join us for an exhilarating week of dance at our Summer Dance Intensive! This week is designed specifically for our Studio Ensemble dancers looking to refine their skills and explore new styles, these camps offer a dynamic curriculum taught by experienced instructors and guest artists.

French Summer Fun Camp

Come join us for a week of creativity en français! There will be songs to sing, games to play, stories to hear, music, physical exercise and lots of art.  All activities will be conducted in French.

Arts for the Young - "The Wing Shop" (4 Day)

This week's camp is based on the book The Wing Shop by Elvira Woodruff. This shop has all sorts of wings to help everyone explore the best way to fly. No class will be held Monday, June 16th.

Weekly Summer Camp - "Summer Solstice" (4 Day)

Celebrate the longest day of the year with a fun-packed program that honors the magic of summer, nature and the great outdoors.  We will explore stories about this magical time of year through dance, art, music and make memories that will last all summer long! No class will be held Monday, June 16th.

Dance Intensives - Ballet Intensives Camps (4 Day)

Arts for the Young – “Anywhere Artist” (4 Day)

Based on the book Anywhere Artist by Nikki Slade we will create dance, music and visual art using the natural world as our inspiration. No class will be held Friday, July 4th.

Weekly Summer Camp – “Follow the Yellow Brick Road” (4 Day)

Welcome to a magical summer camp adventure!  Join us as we step into a world of imagination and excitement, inspired by the beloved classic The Wizard of Oz, by Frank L. Baum. This camp is filled with dance, drama and music that will bring the colorful world of Oz to life! No class will be held Friday, July 4th.

Adaptive Needs Dance Camp (4 Day)

Adaptive Needs Dance Camps are for children and adults with disabilities who wish to experience the joy of moving and self-expression.  These camps are age and ability appropriate for the whole body and the exploration of shape, space, rhythm, and movement. No class will be held Friday, July 4th.

Arts for the Young – “In My Heart”

Based on the book In My Heart by Joe Witek we will explore an array of feelings. Feelings might be as big as a yellow star, a cool calm balloon that gently moves along or even a heavy heart that feels as big as an elephant.

Arts for the Young – Fairytale Fantasy

Fairytale Fantasy is a magical experience where we will embark on imaginative adventures. Through engaging stories and activities, we enter a world of make-believe. This themed camp sparks our imagination, promoting creativity and a sense of wonder.

Weekly Summer Camp – Color Kaleidoscope!

At Color Kaleidoscope, campers will embark on colorful adventures where they’ll learn about the wonders of color in nature, art and science.  Using the craft of dance, art and music there will be no shortage of vibrant activities to spark their creativity and imagination.

Arts for the Young – Just A Dream

Based on the book “Just A Dream” by Chris Van Allsburg we will explore the importance of reduce, reuse and recycle. Walter is a litter bug and believes the future is all about robots and inventions. When he visits the future in a dream, he realizes he needs to make some changes to save the earth.

Weekly Summer Camp – The Deep Blue Sea

Set sail on an unforgettable adventure at Deep Blue Sea Summer Camp, where campers will dive into the wonders of the ocean!  From sea creatures to undersea exploration, this camp is all about discovering the mysteries of the ocean while having a splashing good time.  Whether you’re a fan of sharks, dolphins or colorful coral reefs, there’s something exciting waiting for every young explorer!

French Immersion – Summer Fun Camp

French Immersion Camps are for ages 4-9 years old at the beginning camp date and is for children who currently attend French Dual Immersion, French PreK/K, or children who are French speaking.
