Parent Meeting Information

Thank you for attending our Dancer + Parent Meeting last week. We are excited to start this new year with you!

If you were not able to attend the meeting, please click the link below to access all the information for the year. We will also pass out the packets to dancers in class. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Arts Festival Performance

We have a few more slots to fill, so if you are available to perform, please click the button below to sign up. The following dances will be performed:

Automobile Assembly Line – 1 more dancer needed

Clock and Wheel – 3 more dancers needed

Writing – 1 more dancer needed

Da Vinci’s Sketches – 3 more dancers needed

Sign up for Arts Festival

All other Invention dances will NOT be performed.

Dancers in Clock and Wheel will now perform BOTH dances in order to have enough dancers. Please see the adjusted rehearsal schedule below.

Friday, Aug. 27 – Class Rehearsals at Tanner Dance

4:00 – 5:00 PM: Da Vinci’s Sketches, Wheel, Writing

5:00 – 6:00 PM: Assembly Line, Clock, Writing

Saturday, Aug. 28 – at Utah Arts Festival

Company Spacing Rehearsal at Utah Arts Festival

8:00 – 10:00 AM: All Dancers

DROP OFF/PICK UP FOR SPACING: Please drop off dancers at 8:00 AM behind the Festival stage on 400 South and 200 East. Parents can pull up to the curb on the south side of the street where Miss Ashley will meet them.

Please pick up dancers at 10:00 AM at the same location.

DROP OFF/PICK UP FOR PERFORMANCE:

3:00 PM: Call for all dancers (updated call time)

4:00 PM: Performance

5:00 PM: Pick Up

For the performance, please meet your teacher at the 500 South and 300 East Festival Entrance.

Dancers will receive a free ticket in order to enter the festival. The Festival is no longer providing complimentary tickets for parents.

Please pick up your dancer at the stage. If you are not attending the show, please have your dancer notify the teacher so that they can walk dancers out to the 500 South 300 East Entrance for pick up.


Summer Camp Survey for Junior High + High School

New Parent Concert Meeting

 

The rescheduled New Parent Concert Orientation meeting is today, (Tuesday, Jan. 21) from 5:00 – 6:00 PM in the Art Room. This meeting will cover all of the information for our Capitol Theatre Spring Concert. Please plan to attend so you and your dancer can be prepared for this amazing experience! Free parking will be available during the time of the meeting in the Tanner Dance lot and the top level of the garage.

We will be going through the concert packet in the meeting. Please bring a digital or printed copy with you

Donate Brownies for Volunteer Hours

We need some volunteers to bake brownies for our In Accord refreshments. Brownies should be cut to “Two bite” size, rectangular in shape and unfrosted. Please no nuts! Brownies will be “re-trayed” so please don’t worry about presentation.

Brownies need to be dropped off by 4:00 pm at Tanner Dance on Friday, January 24.


In Accord & Silent Auction

The In Accord performances and silent auction are a great opportunity for our CDT families to connect with and support our whole community and to see all that Tanner Dance has to offer. We hope you will attend!

CDT Concert Photos Now Available!

Photos of CDT Capitol Theatre performances from 2014-2019 are now available through our new digital photo platform, Zenfolio! You can now purchase and download individual photos.

New Parent Concert Meeting

There is a meeting for new CDT parents today, (Tuesday, Jan. 14) from 5:00 – 6:00 PM in the Art Room. This meeting will cover all of the information for our Capitol Theatre Spring Concert. Summer Camp Registration

Be sure to register for your summer camp during the month of January. Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 4, registration will be open to the public and will spots fill up quickly!

Please use the code CDT-U20 when registering for your dancer’s CDT summer camp. Please DO NOT pay for the camp; this code will make the total $0. If you are still seeing an amount other than $0, please call the office and we will register your dancer over the phone. If you have already paid for camp, you will be receiving a refund; this process takes 10-14 business days.

Please DO NOT use the free code for additional camps or for dancers who are not in CDT.

In Accord Silent Auction

As part of the In Accord performances, we hold an annual silent auction with all proceeds going directly to the Tanner Dance Scholarship Fund, which provides needs-based scholarships to students in all programs.

Each EVEN CDT grade will be creating a class basket for this auction and you should be hearing from your class coordinators soon-if you haven’t already. Please note that any donation, either towards your class basket, or another item for the auction, can count toward your 20 hour volunteer requirement for CDT. *It is not a requirement to donate.

Although just the even year grades will be participating in the creation of a class basket, we are taking other donations as well. You can receive 1 volunteer hour for each $10 value (i.e. if you donate a $30 item you can count 3 volunteer hours).

We are also looking for a corporate match for funds we receive from the auction. If you think your company might be interested in something like this, please contact Emma at emma.featherstone@utah.edu.
